Gail Sumner is a fully chartered and state registered physiotherapist. She qualified from Leeds University in 1998 with a BHSc Honours degree in physiotherapy, after which she worked at the Royal Bolton Hospital as a junior/band 5, and then senior II/band 6 physiotherapist. The latter part of which was spent working in the musculoskeletal/orthopaedic field based in the community.
Gail is keen to continue her professional development, and has completed training in a variety of fields to equip her with proven techniques to provide effective diagnosis and treatment.
She is the Perrin Technique™ Licensed practitioner for Bolton, a registered acupuncturist, craniosacral therapist, massage therapist and sports massage therapist.
Due to serious ill health in 2000, and a diagnosis of ME/CFS, Gail set about her own recovery, which has led to knowledge and training in other ‘hands on’ therapies, ‘body-mind work’, counselling and cognitive therapies. She has also developed her skill set to entail diet and nutrition, and has gone on to qualify with a PGDip in nutrition, and is a fully qualified and registered nutritional therapist.
ME/CFS recovery is her passion, and in 2015-2016 she was involved in a land-mark clinical trial, based on the Perrin Techniques physical diagnosis of ME/CFS. After working with and observing some of the best practitioners in the UK and USA, she works to offer an integrated approach to health and recovery.
